The course contents

Theory:

- The working of an Operating Microscope
- Treatments where you can use the Operating Microscope (such as endodontics)
- Extra attributes which you can used with the Operating Microscope such as a video or a camera
- What will be the impact of an Operating Microscope for the general practice
- Advice about the implementation of the Operating Microscope in general practice
- Ergonomical advantages
- Questions which came up during the course

       

Practical:

- How to set up the microscope
- Searching for (extra) canals in teeth in which an endodontic opening has been made.
- Prepare the root canals (by hand or drill)
- Inspect the root canal system with the Operating Microscope
- Obturate the root canals (Thermafil, Obtura, System B, Lateral condensation)
- Problem solving on teeth which you bring with you
- Restoring a tooth with composite resin
- There are also possibilities to do an apicoectomy or to do periodontics

For this course we use natural teeth. Especially upper molars and lower incisors. We ask you to bring as many extracted teeth as you have.
